Hi There,

Quite often I am asked how people find the motivation to 'just do things'. How do they get up in the morning and go for a walk, how do they ...

I find however that those ideas and suggestions only work for a select few. For the majority of us, we are really motivated for a month or so but then something 'comes up' and we 'lose that drive'. For me the answer has been by ensuring my lifestyle incorporates my new healthy choices. I take Fitness Classes, I recruit people into helping me (such as friends and family), and the amazing thing is - the more I tell people the more they want to help!

That's why this month’s article is all about getting rid of those excuses, like that you don't have the time, you can't because you have to look after the kids or work or (insert your own well used excuse here). Instead get your family involved and make a lifestyle choice! By recruiting the family you are creating a network of people around you that are going to help you achieve your goals. And remember family isn't just about children; it's about your mates & immediate family too! At the end of the day they all want to help you succeed and achieve your goals!

And whilst on the topic of 'Getting the Family involved' I thought it would be a good time to plug my upcoming workshop with Kim (Healthy Eating for Kids). It's going to be a fantastic day and will be a chance for you to learn great tips and information (like what to put in their lunchbox, what do for finicky eaters & there will also be time for questions and answers at the end). It's all about the kids so they can come along and play games with me outdoors or the older ones can sit in and listen! The workshop is going to be kept small so if you want to come along you had better register quickly.

Remember guys, your family and loved ones want to help you succeed and achieve your goals. By involving them you're making it that much easier to stick to your goals & succeed long term!

So which family member are you going to recruit first?
Wishing you great Health & Fitness

Lots of Luv

Article: Get the Family Involved
By Amanda Woollard

Being a Personal Trainer one of the most common things that I see is people making up excuses as to why they can’t look after their own health and fitness.

By the time you’ve been to work, got caught up in the politics (at work and home), looked after the kids, had dinner (which you had to do because all day you’ve eaten badly because you haven’t had time and now you feel exhausted), done the domestic chores, socialised with family and friends, done that extra ‘work’ (that’s sooo important that if you don’t do it the world will blow up)... So honestly after all of that, who can really be bothered?

I understand all of the above. Everyone is busy. Everyone has things that they have to do and many people fall into the trap of putting themselves last. But right now I’m going to challenge you and ask:

If you don’t look after yourself – then who do you expect will?

Group Training
The next term of Group Training has started this week and will be running for 10 weeks. Group Training is an excellent way to stay on track and motivated this winter (yes it's still cold and dark outside), so why not come along and join us at our Indoors Location in Watsonia.

For $30p/week you get 4 sessions per week to, mix up your training, try lots of different exercises, have a giggle & socialise with others & best of all you don't have to think about what exercises you "have to get done" (a treadmill or bike at a gym doesn't encourage you to keep going when it gets tough!)

Come along and try it out! Read more about Group Training...

Client's Corner
I know that trying to create a fit & healthy lifestyle can sometimes be hard and often it feels like you're doing it on your own. Each month I want to share with you some of my client’s experiences & accomplishments to help you motivate and inspire each other... (and show the world how fantastic these guys are!) ARxx

mel.jpg Name: Melissa

What is the best thing about your new lifestyle?
I have lots' more energy, I feel happier, I've got more motivation and my life is a lot more balanced!

What has been the hardest thing for you?

Self motivation. I don't make time for myself to do exercise / the things I want to, and when I do I don't really push myself. I know that I can 'go further or work harder' but when other people aren't there I tend to stop.

How have you overcome this?

By doing regular PT sessions and organising time with friends to exercise. I also look back on my achievements and remind myself that when I put my mind to it - I can. It makes me more focused and become more organised (i.e. I work out HOW I can make time to exercise rather than putting it off).

What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
Finishing the 8km Mothers Day Classic this year. I ran with a friend for a kilometre or two but for the majority of the race I ran it on my own.

Need Extra Focus or Motivation?

AR1 offers more than training sessions. I realise that not everything is about 'sweating it out'. You have to have the focus and motivation to stay on track with your eating, exercise, goals and life. That's why I have created coaching sessions and also We Can Lose A Million. As you hear me quiet often say, it's not about the 1hour killer training session you do, it's what you do with the other 23 hours in your day!

Coaching Sessions

goals It's still cold, it's still dark and it's still hard to stay focused and on track. We're now in the last 1/2 of the year and I want to check in with you and see if you're still on track? Are you still 'gunning' for those fabulous goals? How is your overall health & fitness? Have you taken that break you promised yourself you would or done that 'project' you keep putting off?

Maybe it's time to revisit your goals and organise to do a coaching session. The sessions can cover off a range of topics that are guaranteed to get you motivated and on track for the remaining 21 weeks until Christmas!

We cover off anything from goal setting, nutrition right through to stress & work life balance. So what are you waiting for? Book a coaching session today.
