Hi There,
It's been a while between drinks (or newsletters in this case) but I
hope that I can make it up to you with this jam packed edition ;)
As we're starting to come out of hibernation
from a long & cold winter a lot of people are starting to realise that
they're not on track with their goals and far from achieving what they set
out to. Normally when this happens those negative
little voices rear up (which we all hear) so I decided it would be a great
time to write an article to break those sabotaging thoughts & help keep
you on track for Summer.
To also help you stay on track we're hosting
another MEGA DAY on October 15th which will be filled with different
activities to make the 2 hours fly by. EVERYONE is welcome to come along to
these days (you don't have to be training with AR1,
anyone of ANY fitness level is more than welcome). That means that you can
drag along friends and family to share some of the pain as well ;)
We're also doing a 50x50 Challenge which is
open to everyone as well. It's a great kick-start leading into Summer that
doesn't take a lot of time to do - but hopefully it will help you keep on
track, focused and consistent! Join up today or check out more information
on Facebook / AR1's website.
So as you can see as it's warming up there's
lots going on to help you achieve those fabulous goals!
Wishing you great Health & Fitness
Lots of Luv

It’s that time of year again that I seem
to be having a lot of the same conversations with well, pretty much
everyone. As it’s getting warmer and people are coming out of
hibernation they’re starting to realise that the “I’ll
start tomorrow because it’s too cold” excuse really
hasn’t done them any favours. In fact they’re nowhere near
their goals, which is when the mind games begin..... Continue Reading

Client's Corner
I
know that trying to create a fit & healthy lifestyle can sometimes be
hard and often it feels like you're doing it on your own. Each month I want
to share with you some of my client’s experiences &
accomplishments to help you motivate and inspire each other... (and show the world how fantastic these guys are!) AW xx
Name: Nadja
When Nadja
& I first spoke she asked "do you have an ambulance on speed
dial?" She consistently came to group & was
getting brilliant results and then injury struck. She fell at home and tore
her ligament off the bone & also took a chunk of bone with it. During
rehab Nadja was told she probably wouldn't be
able to do a lot when/if she came back to training. But in true Nadja style she's working hard & proving them
wrong! They told her she wouldn't be able to run and if she did manage to
it would only be once a fortnight (she's now running regularly at Group and
pulling up fine). They also said she wouldn't be able to kickbox and if she did she'd only be able to tap the
bag (anyone who's held the bag for Nadja lately
would know that's SO not the case either!)
With everything that's going on, Nadja shows up to training and has such a fantastic
'can do' attitude and is out to beat all odds. I'm so incredibly proud of
how well she's done & instead of quitting and throwing in the towel,
blaming others or switching into autopilot like many others may have -
she's being a rockstar!
What is the best
thing about your new lifestyle?
I am now the
fittest I have ever been in my life & I'm loving
it! I can do anything the kids challenge me too, and my mental health is
better (I stress less & I'm happier). I love doing something physical and
having the sense of accomplishment when I've completed something I thought
I could never possibly do - it's awesome!
Training has made me feel good about myself & made
me happy =)
What has been the hardest thing for you?
Everything, but
particularly running. When I started I couldn't run 10 meters without
feeling like I was going to die, but now I can run the whole fitness test!
How have you overcome this?
I have learnt that
if you put in the effort, I'll get results. I just need to commit to
actually doing it! Complaining about it doesn't get it done (or any
sympathy either), so with lots of encouragement from Amanda I have started
working hard for me.
What has been your biggest accomplishment to date?
Coming back after
5 months off after a serious foot/ankle injury (done at home not at
training!!!) and having to start at the beginning all over
again was really hard. Coming back to Group Training was the goal I set
myself during rehab and when I got there and realised I could hardly do
anything and it was awful. With lots of encouragement from Amanda & the
others at Group (and lots of hard work) I'm nearly back to where I was. My
new goal is to now improve my fitness test time.
